Instructional Materials and Resources (Senate Bills 422 & 704)
College and Career Readiness Standards ensure that students exit high school prepared for success in a wide range of high-quality postsecondary options. Specifically, college and career readiness refers to the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to be successful in postsecondary opportunities that lead to employment. West Virginia’s approach to college and career readiness builds on foundations established through a comprehensive approach to high-quality early learning programming that extends through the middle and secondary learning years. College and career ready students in West Virginia exit high school with a complete understanding of the career opportunities available to them, the education necessary to be successful in their chosen pathway, and a plan to attain their goals. Curriculum standards may also be found at the WVDE website.
Instructional materials adopted by Mineral County Schools are reviewed locally and approved by WVDE prior to implementation. Locally adopted courses are approved prior to implementation and offering to students.
Below are links to the WVDE and/or MCS adopted curriculum and standards sorted by grade level band. Instructional Resources and Supplemental Materials lists of any additional curriculum resources are available from each teacher. These lists are maintained locally at individual schools and at the county office. These lists are updated annually by each instructor. Contact your student's school to arrange to personally review instructional materials.
