Calendar reminder for families-- Tomorrow, Friday April 19 is a full day of school for students.

Good Evening families, Reminder, Tomorrow, Monday April 8th, will be a 3 hour early release for students due to the solar eclipse which is estimated to occur during our regularly scheduled dismissal and bus runs. Thank you

Tomorrow, Thursday March 28th, will be a 3 hour early release for students and will begin our Spring Break. Students will return on Monday April 8th. We also have a calendar adjustment: April 8th will be a 3 hour early release for students, due to the solar eclipse which estimated to occur during our regularly scheduled dismissal and bus runs. To ensure students can safely view the eclipse with proper eyewear and family supervision we are dismissing early to allow everyone time to get home and ready for the event. This will not impact evening activities. April 19th is no longer an early release, it will be a full day. Thank you and have a great Spring Break!

Regional Math Field Day at Potomac State College that was originally scheduled for today has been moved to Wednesday, March 13.

The Elk Garden District will operate on a 2 hour delay tomorrow, Monday March 11th.

It’s almost time to Spring Forward! Reminder to set your clocks forward 1 hour tonight/tomorrow morning and test your smoke detectors. Please contact your local fire department if you need assistance obtaining smoke detectors/batteries.

The WVDE is conducting the Artificial Intelligence in Education: West Virginia Stakeholder Survey to gather input from the public and the community. Information from this survey will be used to guide future planning for resources and supports provided to West Virginia public schools, as well as inform potential policy considerations. The survey will be open for responses through March 6, 2024. Please share the survey found at http://wvde.us/ai/ with family members, educators, administrators, and community members. Recent School Threats found to be Viral Hoax: As you may be aware, yesterday we received a threat regarding Frankfort High School.   Today we were made aware of another vague and non-specific threat which did not target any particular school or schools. In fact, today’s threat did not even mention schools. However, we investigate all threats to determine their credibility and maintain safe school environments.   After having thoroughly investigated yesterday and today’s threats, in conjunction with the Office of Emergency Management, MC Sheriff’s Dept, the WV State Police, and the Maryland Department of Public Safety K9 Division, we have determined the threats were NOT and are NOT credible.  Rather, they are part of a multi-state viral hoax that has circulated many school districts and have NO connection to our area or our state.     We appreciate the Office of Emergency Management, MC Sheriff’s Dept, and the WV State Police, and the Maryland Department of Public Safety K9 Division for their assistance as we worked to find the source of these threats.
